Question 1133462

Hello!

I need to find the surface area of a pyramid that has a rectangular base with edges of length 10 and 24. The vertex of the pyramid is directly 13 units above the center of the base.

We know that the height is 13, the length is 24, and the width is 10. I tried 751.199m^2, but is it wrong and I don't understand why.

Thanks!
<pre>The formula for surface area of a rectangular pyramid is: {{{highlight(highlight_green(highlight(matrix(1,3, A, "=", LW + L*sqrt((W/2)^2 + h^2) + W*sqrt((L/2)^2 + h^2)))))}}}, where:
L = length of RECTANGULAR base
W = width of RECTANGULAR base
h = height of pyramid
I did the calculation and I also got what you got: 751.199 m<b>2</b>.
The only reason I see why this would be wrong is either the numbers are wrong or you were asked to round the answer.
