I know that you set it up in the system
3 -2 and 6
1 -2 10

You have to multiply both sides by the inverse of the 2x2 on the left side
or you have to row-reduce the enhanced matrix
3..-2..|6
1..-2..|10
----------------
Either way you should end up with x = -2 and y = -6
