Question 1130229
Captain gives you the following clue to find a buried a treasure :
 Get ye to the palm tree at the middle of the isle.
 Face ye to the west.
 Think ye of the number that is seventeen more than the quotient when six times the number of paces to the treasure is divided by two.
This number be equal to the sum when twelve more than nine minus fifteen is added to four times the number of paces to the treasure.
:
let p = the no. of paces to the treasure
{{{(6p)/2}}} + 17 = (12+9-15) + 4p
{{{(6p)/2}}} + 17 = 6 + 4p
6p + 2(17) = 2(6+4p)
6p + 34 = 12 + 8p
34 - 12 = 8p - 6p
22 = 2p
p = 22/2
p = 11 paces west to the treasure
