Question 1129260
In order to obtain 800ml of a 2.5% lidocaine lotion. How much water must be used to dilute how much of a 10% lidocaine lotion? (Hint: water is 0% lidocaine lotion.)
------
Equation:
lid + lid = lid
-----
10% lid + water = 2.5% lid.
-----
0.1x + 0*(800-x) = 0.025*800
-----
100x + 0 = 25*800
x = 200 ml (amt. of 10% lidocaine to dilute)
800-x = 600 ml (amt. of water used to dilute)
