The verb  "assist"  in this context means that you do the major part of the work,  while an assistant helps you 
in some elements of the second plan.

so, &nbsp;in my opinion, &nbsp;you &nbsp;INCORRECTLY &nbsp;use this word &nbsp;(this term) &nbsp;"assist".



You may ask &nbsp;"show me please how to . . .", &nbsp;or even better, &nbsp;"Teach me please on how to . . . " - 

they are much more adequate words . . .
