Also, he treated your question as two separate questions -- the probability of getting a diamond, and the probability of getting a queen.<br>
I suspect the intent was to find the probability of getting a diamond or a queen when drawing a single card once.  In that case, since there are 13 diamonds plus 3 queens that are not diamonds, the probability is 16/52 = 4/13.
