UM is one-half of UV, and XM is half of that, so XM must be one-fourth of UV.  Also MV is one-half of UV, so XV must be three-fourths of UV.  Since Y is the midpoint of segment XV, then YV must be three-eighths of UV, and MY, which is 5, must be one-eighth of UV.  So if 5 is one-eighth of UV, UV must be 40 and XY must be 30.
