Question 14837
The two consecutive integers would be;
x, x+1
Since x is the smaller of those you would multiply that by 3;
And multiply the 4 by the larger;
so we have:
3x + 4(x+1)=130
Solve this:
3x+4x+4=130
7x=126
x=18
So now we have what the smaller integer is; 18
So we replace that for the x;
4(18+1)=72+4=76
Do a check:
3(18)+4(18+1)=130
54+76=130
So your smaller number would be 18!
Hope you understand
