Spend a few hours with Dr. Devlin on-line. It's free unless you want a certificate. This course is worth every minute you spend on it. It won't teach you thing one about Calculus, but it will prepare your mind to absorb the Calculus course material or any other discipline for that matter.

Next enrolment is May 28. You don't actually need the textbook to do the course, but I think it is a must for any aspiring mathematician's bookshelf. You can get a pre-loved copy from Barnes and Noble for about 2 and a half bucks, or a Kindle version from Amazon for about $3.
