Question 1117386
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

A plain text indicator for a subscript is an underscore character. a_n means *[tex \Large a_n]. In the event you have more than one character in your subscript, enclose the subscript characters in curly braces. a_{15} means *[tex \Large a_{15}]

Your question has two possible answers depending on the lower index. That is, is your sequence *[tex \Large \{a_n\}_0^\infty] or *[tex \Large \{a_n\}_1^\infty]?

In the first case, answer B would give *[tex \Large -3\ +\ 4(0)\ =\ -3], then *[tex \Large -3\ +\ 4(1)\ =\ 1], and so on.

In the second case, answer A would give *[tex \Large -3\ +\ 4(1\,-\,1)\ =\ -3], then *[tex \Large -3\ +\ 4(2\,-\,1)\ =\ 1], and so on.

Not all sequences start at 1.

*[tex \LARGE e^{i\pi}\ +\ 1\ =\ 0]
My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
