Question 1116688
HW Question:
Two angles are supplementary. If angle A is 5 times the sum of angle B plus 7.2, what is angle B?

Teacher's answer key says: 5x + 7.2 + x = 180 x = 28.8

Shouldn't it be solved like this: 5(x + 7.2) +x = 180 ? x = 24

IGNORE the NONSENSE by the other person!
Let angle B be B
Then angle A = 180 - B, since the angles are SUPPLEMENTARY
We then get: 180 - B = 5B + 7.2
- B - 5B = 7.2 - 180
- 6B = - 172.8
B, or measure of angle B = {{{highlight_green(matrix(1,3, (- 172.8)/(- 6), "=", 28.8^o))}}}
AGAIN, any other answer is NONSENSE, especially the one from that person who you can be CERTAIN will ALWAYS be about 95% INCORRECT!!
