Question 1116389
<br>
If (a,3) lies on the circle, then
{{{a^2+3^2=34}}}
{{{a^2+9=34}}}
{{{a^2=25}}}
{{{a=5}}} or {{{a=-5}}}<br>
If (-5,b) lies on the circle, then
{{{(-5)^2+b^2=34}}}
{{{25+b^2=34}}}
{{{b^2=9}}}
{{{b=3}}} or {{{b=-3}}}<br>
So if Aisling is saying that a HAS TO BE 5 and that b HAS TO BE -3, then he is wrong. a CAN BE 5, but it can also be -5; b CAN BE -3, but it can also be 3.
