Question 1114255
While the formal solution by the other tutor using a constant of proportionality is fine, I find inverse variation far easier to work with and understand if I just think of the product of the two variables being constant.
In your example, y is 10 and x is 15; the product is 150.
So an equation showing that y is inversely proportional to x in your example is
xy = 150.
Which of course is equivalent to the other tutor's answer, y = 150/x.
