Question 1108970
i used the cpi inflation calculator i found here:

<a href = "https://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm" target = "_blank">https://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm</a>

i entered 600 for december, 2009, and then asked the calculator to tell me the price in december, 2013.

the calculator said it was 647.51.

here's what it looked like.

i then went to the table to see if i could duplicate this result.

here's the table i used.

<a href = "http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/consumer-price-index-and-annual-percent-changes-from-1913-to-2008/" target = "_blalnk">http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/inflation/consumer-price-index-and-annual-percent-changes-from-1913-to-2008/</a>

i looked up the price index in december, 2009 and december,2013.

the price was 215.949 in december, 2009.
the price was 233.049 in december, 2013.

i divided 233.049 by 235.949 and got 1.079185363.

i multiplied that by 600 and got 647.5112179.

this agrees with what the online calculator told me.

here's a picture of what i saw.

see if that gets you the right answer.

not sure what you did to get 651.52.

it's close though, so you weren't far off, assuming the number i got is correct.
