Question 98973
1st:  2x – 7y = 3
2nd: -4x + 14y = -9
------------------------
Multiply 1st by 2 to get:
3rd: 4x -14y = 6
-------------------
Add 2nd and 3rd to get:
0 = -3
===============
This contrdiction occured because we assumed the "x" and the "y"
in the two equations represented,respectively, the same number.
---------------
The "x" in one equation is not the same as the "x" in the other;
same with the "y" variable. Therefore the system is said to be
"inconsistent". The graphs of the two equations are parallel.
There is no solution for the system of equations.
