Question 98493
-4/3(2x+1)=-x-2
multiply -3 times each side: 4(2x+1)=3x+6
8x+4=3x+6
subtract 3x and 4 from each side: 5x=2
divide 5 into each side: x=2/5
When you converted the fraction on the left side you should only multiply 3 times -4/3 and NOT times (2x+1). this gives you -4(2x+1)=-3x-6.
{{{3(1/3+1/3+1/3)=1+1+1=3}}}
{{{3((1/3)*(1/3)*(1/3))=1*(1/3)*(1/3)=1/9}}}
