Question 1100593
<br>You can't perform this kind of calculation with pencil and paper; you need a calculator or some other mathematical tool.<br>
If you have a good graphing calculator (which you should have, if you are studying trigonometry), then you can find the value directly. With my TI83 calculator, I get the answer by entering "cos(tan^-1(1.1273))" ("cosine of inverse tangent of 1.1273").<br>
If you don't have a calculator that will do that kind of calculation, or if you want to practice other trig skills, you can do this:<br>
{{{sinx/cosx = 1.1273}}}
{{{sinx = 1.1273*cosx}}}
{{{sqrt(1-(cosx)^2) = 1.1273*cosx}}}
{{{1-(cosx)^2 = 1.27080529*(cosx)^2}}}
{{{1 = 2.27080529*(cosx)^2}}}
{{{(cosx)^2 = 1/2.27080529}}}
{{{cosx = sqrt(1/2.27080529)}}}
