Question 1099581
.
Please help me solve this problem Mixtures A and B contain baking soda. Mixture A is 12% baking soda and Mixture B is 25% baking soda.
How many ounces of the 12% mixture must be added to 130 ounces of the 25% mixture to produce 52 ounces of baking soda in the final solution?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
<pre>
130 ounces of the 25% mixture contain 0.25*130 = 32.5 ounces of baking soda.
So, we need to add 52 - 32.5 = 19.5 ounces of soda.
But it must come as 12% solution.
So, the amount of this 12% solution is {{{19.5/0.12}}} = 162.5 ounces.
