intersection point is where the 2 equations are the SAME...they are equal at that point... the (x,y) of one equation is the same as the (x,y) of the other.


so, we have
x+y = 0 and 
2x+y = 4


ignore the < and > for now...we are interested in where they ARE equal.


so sub 1 equation into the other and solve. Find the other variable afterwards.
