Question 1092433
Ok, so first, open up that pesky parenthetical expression by multiplying both x and 9 by 1/3:

{{{(1/3) * (x+9) = (1/2)*x}}}

= {{{x/3  +  3 =  x/2}}}

so...

3*2=6, so lets multiply both sides by 6 and see what happens:

{{{6x/3 + 18 = 6x/2}}}

which simplifies to:

{{{2x + 18 = 3x}}}

now the rest is a breeze!

subtract 2x from both sides to get

{{{18 = x}}}

which turns out, is your answer! :-)

Whoop de doo! You're doing math!
