Question 1092025

A board, 39 cm long is cut into three pieces such that the second piece is twice as long as the first and the third is 4 cm longer than the second.
<pre>Let the first piece be F
Then the second is: 2F
Third piece is: 2F + 4
We then get: F+ 2F + 2F + 4 = 39
5F = 35
F, or first piece = {{{highlight_green(matrix(1,4, 35/5, or, 7, cm))}}}
Second piece: {{{highlight_green(matrix(1,4, 2(7), or, 14, cm))}}}
Third piece: {{{highlight_green(matrix(1,4, 14 + 4, "=", 18, cm))}}}
Do you see how SIMPLE this problem is?
Good Lord!! This dude is unbelievable. Why does he always do things in the most complex way. He must enjoy confusing people and himself!
When he's not giving wrong answers, he's using methods that are TOTALLY, TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. Who wants to take 3 hours to do a math
problem, and involve FRACTIONS when he/she can do it in 1/2/3, or 5 minutes, without FRACTIONS?
