Question 1089289

One integer is {{{2}}} times another.
if one integer is {{{x}}}, the other integer {{{y}}}, than

{{{x=2y}}}.......eq.1

If the product of the two integers is {{{98}}}, than

{{{xy=98}}}.......eq.1..substitute {{{x=2y}}}

{{{2y*y=98}}}

{{{2y^2=98}}}

{{{y^2=98/2}}}

{{{y^2=49}}}

{{{y=sqrt(49)}}}

so, {{{y=7}}} or {{{y=-7}}}

then,

{{{x=2y}}}->{{{x=2*7}}}->{{{x=14}}} or

{{{x=2y}}}->{{{x=2*(-7)}}}->{{{x=-14}}}

solutions:

integers are:
{{{14}}} and {{{7}}}
or
{{{-14}}} and {{{-7}}}
