Question 1085466
An agency rents Cars for one day and charges $22 plus 20 cents per mile the Car is driven.
(a)	Write the equation for the cost of one day’s rental, y, in terms of x, the number of miles driven.
(b)	Interpret the slope and the y- intercept.
(c)	What is the renter’s average cost per mile if a Car is driven 100 miles? 200 miles?
(a) y=.20x+22
(b) The y intercept is the 22 dollars you are charged just for renting the car in the first place. The slope is the 20 cents (.20 dollars) you are charged every mile you are charged oer mile you drive.
(c) substitute 100 and 200 in for x.
y=.20(100)+22
y=20+22
y=42
then
y=.20(200)+22
y=40+22
y=62
