Question 96137
If a rock is dropped from a cliff into an ocean, it travels aproximately 16t^2 feet in t seconds. If the splash is heard 4 seconds later and the speed of sound is 1100ft/sec, aproximate the height of the cliff.
----------------
The 16t^2 has nothing to do with answering the question.
The sound starts when the rock hits the water.
height of the cliff = 1100 ft/sec * 4 sec = 4400 ft
