Were they disjoint events, there would be no probability for p(A+B).  So they aren't disjoint.
If they were dependent, p(A and B) would not be= p(A)*p(B); stated another way, if they were independent, the joint probability would be the product of the separate probabilities.
The joint probability is almost that, but it is a little more, 0.3834; therefore, the two are not independent, so there must be dependence.
