Question 1082972

Please show me the steps on how to do this problem. I forgot how to do it.
There are two consecutive numbers, where the sum of the lesser number and three times the greater number is 103. What is the greater number?
<pre>Let the larger number be L
Then smaller = L - 1
We then get: L - 1 + 3L = 103
4L = 103 + 1
4L = 104
L, or larger number = {{{highlight_green(matrix(1,3, 104/4, "=", 26))}}}
That's all.....nothing COMPLEX nor CONFUSING!
