You aren't very forthcoming about what your function means, but it looks like the variable *[tex \Large x] represents the number of months that the savings account has been open and the value of the function for any given *[tex \Large x] input is the amount of money in the savings account.  The initial amount would be the value of the function when zero months had elapsed, so:


*[tex \LARGE \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ f(0)\ =\ 300(0)\ +\ 500]


Do the arithmetic.
