Question 95220
The two point form of an equation is given by:

{{{(y - y1)/(y2 - y1)}}} = {{{(x - x1)/(x2 - x1)}}}

Substituting for the points, (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) that is (-8, 1) and (-8, 7) we get:

{{{(y - 1)/(7 - 1)}}} = {{{(x - (-8))/(-8 -(-8))}}}

{{{(y - 1)/(8)}}}  = {{{((x + 8)/(0))}}}

{{{(y - 1)/8}}} = {{{0}}}

==> y - 1 = 0

Thus the solution...
