Question 1073393
find an equation for the line and write the equation in standard form

*through the origin and (7,-8)

my answer for the equation in standard form was 7x-y=8 i don't how i got it wrong i did all the steps.
for the slope i got m=-8/7
is my slope wrong??
================================
You got the slope correct.

I usually go for slope-intercept form first (y=mx+b) , then re-arrange to standard form (Ax + By = C).
When I do that I get
y = -(8/7)x + b
and b=0 since the line goes through the origin (y=0 where the line intercepts y-axis), so the slope-intercept form reduces to y = (-8/7)x

Re-arranging to standard form:
     7y = -8x
   {{{ highlight(8x + 7y = 0) }}}
