Question 1062620
Please help me to solve the problem. In a school 720 are boys and 40% are girls. Find the number of girls?
<pre>This is a SIMPLE, SIMPLE proportion problem.
As 40% (.4) are girls, 60% (.6) are boys, which also happens to be 720.
With G being the number of girls, we have: {{{.6/.4 = 720/G}}}
.6G = .4(720) ------- Cross-multiplying
G, or number of girls = {{{highlight_green(.4(720)/.6 = 480)}}}
It's that SIMPLE....nothing COMPLEX and/or CONFUSING!
