Question 1053895

A tract of land is rectangular, and the length is twice the width. The area in square miles is equal to the perimeter in miles. Determine dimensions.

Partial attempt:

Area = Length * Width
Perimeter = 2L + 2W

Length = 2W

Area = Perimeter

Unsure bow to continue.  Thanks.
<pre>Width: W
Length: 2W
Area: {{{matrix(1,3, W(2W), or, 2W^2)}}}
Perimeter: 2(W + 2W), or 2(3W), or 6W
Area = Perimeter, so: {{{matrix(1,7, 2W^2 = 6W, "=====>", 2W(W) = 2W(3), "=====>", cross(2W)(W) = cross(2W)(3), "=======>", highlight(W = 3))}}}
You should be able to find the length.
