If you have *[tex \Large n] scores that average *[tex \Large x], then the sum of the scores must be *[tex \Large nx].  So on one end you have 3 times 83 is 249.  Subtract the sum of 81 and 85, viz. 166, and the smallest score you can get on the third test to stay in the 83 to 88 range is 83.  I'll let you figure out the other end for yourself.
