Question 1050217
The Cummings are moving across the country. Mr. Cumming leaves 4 hours before Mrs. Cumming. If he averages 45 mph and she averages 90 mph, how long will it take Mrs. Cumming to overtake Mr. Cumming?
<pre>With T being time it takes MRS Cummnings to get to meet-up point, the following distance equation is formed: {{{90T = 45(T + 4)}}}
90T = 45T + 180
90T - 45T = 180
45T = 180
T, or time it takes Mrs Cummings to get to meet-up point = {{{180/45}}}, or {{{highlight_green(matrix(1,2, 4, hours))}}}
It is that simple...nothing COMPLEX!!

<b><u>FYI</b></u>
You're asked for time. It is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to solve for
distance, or to find distance. Therefore, solve for time! If you disagree then feel free to solve for it.
