Question 13267
We have to find the slope of 3x + 5y = 8 with expressing this equation to form: y = mx + c; where m is the slope

3x+5y=8 -----------> 5y = -3x + 8 ------------> {{{y=(-3/5)*x+8/5}}}

so, we find {{{m = -3/5}}}

and then, use the formula : y - b = m (x - a)

Suppose (-1,7) as (a,b)and {{{m = -3/5}}}:

y - 7 = {{{(-3/5)*(x-(-1))}}}
y - 7 = {{{(-3/5)*(x+1)}}}
y - 7 = {{{(-3/5)*x+(-3/5)*1)}}}
y - 7 = {{{-3x/5-3/5}}} ------------>multiply the side both with 5
5y - 35 = -3x - 3
5y + 3x - 35 + 3 = 0
5y + 3x - 32 = 0

OK
