Question 91299
Find the horizontal asymptote of F(x) =5x^2+1/ x^2+2x+1
---------
To find the horizontal asymptote of a rational function:
1st: Find the highest power term; it doesn't matter if this term
is in the numerator or in the denominator. For your problem the
highest power term is x^2.
---------
2nd: Write down the coefficient of that highest power term as it
appears in the numerator and as it appears in the denominator.
For your problem that would be 5/1
------------
3rd: The horizontal asymptote is y= that number. For your problem
that would be y=5
