Question 1041448
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

If *[tex \Large x\ -\ 50] represented the amount left on the card after buying a Big Mac, then, given that a Big Mac costs less than $50, there would be a negative amount of money on the card. So let's say that the Big Mac costs five dollars, then $5 minus $50 is -$45. You would have a nice tasty Big Mac and a $45 debt to McDonalds. Absurd in the extreme. Re-think your answer and don't guess this time.
