Question 1037933
If we assume the sum of two and half the number means 2x+(1/2)x then the sum of two and half the number is 2+1/2 of the number which is the same as 5/2 of the number which is 2.5x

Now we have
(1/3)x + (5/2)x is less or = 2.5x
We know that (5/2)x is the same as 2.5 If you divide (5/2) you get 2.5

Therefore
(1/3)x + 2.5x is less or = 2.5x
We cancel out 2.5x from both sides of the equation

(1/3)x is less or equal to zero

(1/3)x <0 If we multiply both sides by three we get x< or equal to zero.
THis means that x should be zero or less. In other words x should be a negative number.
