Question 1037725
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

There are 2 ways that you can get a 4 or a 5, that is you can either get a 4 (one way) or a 5 (second way), and there are 4 ways that you can get something else, either a 1, a 2, a 3, or a 6.

Odds FOR an event are given by the number of ways you get a favorable outcome compared to the number of ways to get an unfavorable outcome; in this case 2 to 4, which reduces to 1 to 2, often expressed 1:2.

Odds AGAINST is the opposite: Unfavorable compared to favorable, so in this case 2:1.
