Question 1035846
As I said before (https://www.algebra.com/algebra/homework/playground/test.faq.question.1035781.html), we assign degrees to *polynomials*, not equations.

You can rearrange it to *[tex \large 3x^4 + 6x^3 - 2x^2 + 2 = 0]. The left-hand side of the equation is a polynomial with degree 4 and leading coefficient 3.

However the equation is completely equivalent to *[tex \large 99x^5 + 3x^4 + 6x^3 - 2x^2 + 2 = 99x^5]. Again, the left-hand side of the equation is a polynomial, but its degree is 5 and its leading coefficient is 99.

Response to your comment: I have a BS in mathematics, and have experience tutoring math up to and including calculus, so hopefully I know what I am talking about.
