Question 1035420
I have been given this equation and solution but I am not understanding a specific step in the solution.

CSC theta = -2
solution
    1/sin theta = -2
(do not understand this step)
     sin theta = -1/2

  How does the equation steps look?
  I need the steps of how to gethe 1/sin to sin and -2 to -1/2.

Thank you
<pre>{{{csc (theta) = - 2}}}
{{{1/sin (theta) = - 2}}} ------- Substituting {{{matrix(1,3, 1/sin (theta), for, csc (theta))}}}
{{{- 2 * sin (theta) = 1}}} ----- Cross-multiplying
{{{sin (theta) = - 1/2}}} ------- Dividing by - 2

You didn't specify a range, but {{{matrix(1,3, sin (30^o) = 1/2, or, sin (theta) = pi/6)}}}, but since {{{sin (theta) < 0}}},
then {{{theta}}} is in the 3rd and 4th quadrants ({{{matrix(1,5, 7pi/6, and, 11pi/6, ",", respectively)}}}), where sin is < 0 (negative).
