Question 89309
Complementary angles add up to 90 degrees

Let x=the smaller angle
Then 2x+6=larger angle

Our equation to solve is:

x+2x+6=90 subtract 6 from both sides

x+2x+6-6=90-6  collect like terms

3x=84 divide both sides by 3

x=28 degrees--------------the smaller angle

2x+6=2*28+6=62 degrees -------------------the larger angle

CK

28+62=90
90=90
also
62=2*28+6
62=62

Hope this helps---ptaylor
