Question 1016223
3w-7=sqrt (8w-7)
square both sides to remove the radical
(3w-7)^2=8w-7=9w^2-42w+49
9w^2-50w+56=0
(9w-14)(w-4)=0
w=4. w=14/9
Each of these has to be checked in the original equation, for squaring both sides may lead to answers that don't work in the original equation.
w=4
5=sqrt (25).  That works.
---------------------------
w=14/9
(42/9)-49/9=-7/9, and a square root of anything can't be negative with real numbers.
--------------------------
w=4 is the only solution.
