Question 1013013
The total cost of a suit and a coat is $291. The coat costs twice as much as the suit. How much did the cost cost?
We are supposed to define a variable and write out a two-step equation.
-----
s + c = 291 dollars
c = 2s
-----
Substitute for "c" and solve for "s"::
s + 2s = 291
3s = 291
s = $97 (price of the suit)
---
c = 2s = $194 (price of the coat)
