Question 86735
find the poynomial written as a product of linear factors.
f(x)= 2x^3+5x^2-11x+4
--------------
The coefficients add to zero so x=1 is a zero.
Use synthetic division to find the quotient of f(x)/(x-1):
1)....2....5....-11....4
........2....7.....-4...|..0
=========
Quotient is 2x^2+7x-4
Use factoring to find the other factors:
(2x^2+8x-x-4
=2x(x+4)-(x+4)
=(x+4)(2x-1)
---------------
f(x) = (x-1)(x+4)(2x-1)
