Question 1008607
On my homework it says "Find the value of r so the line passes through each pair of points has the given slope" and one of the questions is (r,3), (5,9), m=2

I have no idea what to do because I was gone the day we learned this.
<pre>Formula for m, or slope: {{{(y[1] - y[2])/(x[1] - x[2])}}}
Therefore, {{{(y[1] - y[2])/(x[1] - x[2]) = 2}}}
In this case: (r, 3) is ({{{x[1]}}}{{{","}}}{{{y[1]}}}), while (5, 9) is ({{{x[2]}}}{{{","}}}{{{y[2]}}})
Substitute to find r.
