The least amount of fencing for a given area occurs when the area is a square.
square root of 12,400=111.35, and that would account for 445.4 feet of fencing.
square root of 17,000=130.38, and that would amount for 521.52 feet.
This is close enough to go the other way.
110^2=12,100 sq ft.
130^2=16,900 sq. ft.
Mathematically, both are "lying," but realistically, they both are very close to being accurate.  Susan is closer, and if either said "about," they would be correct, Susan more so than Bob.
