Question 996926
.
Raul works two hours daily after school, Monday through Friday. On Saturdays he works eight hours at two dollars more per hour than on weekdays.

If he makes $142 per week how much does he make per hour on weekends. (! I corrected here weekends on weekdays (underlined !). Otherwise it doesnt make sense).
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Let x be what Raul makes per hour on weekdays.

Then he makes 2*5*x = 10x in total on weekdays, Monday through Friday.

On Saturday he makes 8*(x+2) dollars.

The equation is

10x + 8*(x+2) = 142.

The solution is x = {{{(142-16)/18}}} = 7 dollars per hour on weekdays.

Hence, Paul makes x+2 = 7+2 = 9 dollars per hour on weekends.
