Question 84819
I have a question that states: Find the slope of the line passing through the pair of points (-7, 3), (3,3). The slope is 0, isn't it?
Yes, if the y's are both the same and you connected the two points on a graph, they would form a horizontal line graphically. The slope of a horizontal line is 0.
If you're more comfortable with the analytical approach, use the slope formula:
{{{highlight(m=(y[2]-y[1])/(x[2]-x[1]))}}}
(x1,y1)=(-7,3) and (x2,y2)=(3,3)
{{{m=(3-3)/(3-(-7))}}}
{{{m=0/10}}}
{{{highlight(m=0)}}}
You were right. Life is good.
Happy Calculating!!!!
