Question 990863
.
Hello,

I re-wrote the formulation for clarity:

Four times the square of a certain number increased by 6 times the number equals 108. Find the number.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

{{{4x^2}}} + {{{6x}}} = {{{108}}}.

{{{4x^2}}} + {{{6x}}} - {{{108}}} = {{{0}}}.

{{{x[1,2]}}} = {{{(-6 +- sqrt(36 + 4*4*108))/8}}} = {{{(-6 +- 42)/8}}}.

{{{x[1]}}} = -6, {{{x[2]}}} = 4.5.
