If the range is a single number, then every ordered pair in the set of ordered pairs that is the graph of the function must have exactly the same *[tex \Large y]-coordinate. Since the domain is all real numbers, we now have the set of all ordered pairs (x,y) such that x is any real number and y = -2.

So what function describes this set of ordered pairs?

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
